STUDIES IN KINESIOLOGY


Kinesiologists require a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field. In New Brunswick there are three universities where a Kinesiology program is offered.

For the Université de Moncton (UdeM), there is the option to take your first two years at the UdeM Edmundston Campus, or there is also an option to take your first year at the UdeM Shippagan Campus. You will need to complete your final two or three years at the UdeM Moncton Campus.

General course requirements for a degree in kinesiology include basic science courses in your first year, followed by courses in:

  • Anatomy and Functional Anatomy
  • Physiology and Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Nutrition
  • Motor Control and Learning
  • Ergonomics
  • Psychology of Sport and Exercise
  • Etc.

Following a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology there is an option for graduate studies at both the University of New Brunswick and the Université de Moncton.
