STUDIES IN KINESIOLOGY


Kinesiologists require a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field. In New Brunswick there are two universities where a Kinesiology program is offered.

For the Université de Moncton (UdeM), there is the option to take your first two years at the UdeM Edmundston Campus, or there is also an option to take your first year at the UdeM Shippagan Campus. You will need to complete your final two or three years at UdeM in Moncton.

General course requirements for a degree in kinesiology include basic science courses in your first year, followed by courses in:

  • Anatomy and Functional Anatomy
  • Physiology and Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Nutrition
  • Motor Control and Learning
  • Ergonomics
  • Psychology of Sport and Exercise
  • Etc.

Following a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology there is an option for graduate studies at both campuses. The University of New Brunswick in Fredericton offers a Master of Science in Kinesiology, as well as the option to pursue your PhD in the fiels of Kinesiology.
